Being the new girl in such a small town, Antigone learned, brought lots of attention onto you. People whispered behind their hands (really not subtle at all) and pointed behind her back, though she didn’t mind too much. She had always loved attention, though it was rather awkward and annoying to have people go silent whenever you appeared.
‘I heard she’s one of the biggest druggies you’ll ever meet!’ ‘Well, I heard that she’s completely innocent, because her father kept her under lock and key!’ ‘I heard she’s such a whore!’ ‘I heard she’s from L.A.!’ And those were only the beginning. There were many, many more, though Annie didn’t bother with listening any more. She was finding out a lot about herself, apparently, and actually found it amusing. A lot of what they were saying was true, but a lot was also quite wrong. Let them talk–they were the one wasting time and breath on her.
Junior Level Spanish had been boring her to tears. She had already finished up to French Four at her old school, so Senior Level Spanish was the only way to go. She’d pouted her way into the class, and her guidance counselor, being a male, didn’t even have to blink to give her a yes.
She handed the transfer papers for her original teacher to sign with a bright smile, absently tugging on the hem of her skirt; brushing her mid-thigh, black with pink plaid stripes. A camisole in the same shade of pink adorned her upper half; soft to the touch, with lace around the neck line and the bottom. Black ballerina flats gave her no height, and left her at the normal five foot seven. Dark chocolate-colored curls, streaked with magenta, were pulled back into loose pigtails; bangs straightened and parted to the left. For once, she didn’t wear contacts, and thick-rimmed black glasses with a pink undertone were placed in front of hazel eyes, lined in black with pink glitter on the lids. She smiled and took the papers as well as the pass, resting her books against her hip and slipping the leather bag onto her shoulder.
She took her time going down the hallway, and twisted the doorknob once she’d found the correct classroom. She peeked her head in the door, and the chatter died down a few moments after she’d spoken: “Hola, Senor Perino?” The teacher turned and took her papers, and the two spoke for a moment; she, quite clearly, showing off her Spanish-speaking skills with the the perfect accent, and admitted to being Latin. Perino, however, didn’t appear to care; he looked at her in awe, almost unbelieving that a girl that could actually speak the language was in his class. He shook his head after a moment, and turned to the class. “Bien, la clase, nosotros tenemos a un nuevo estudiante–,” “What the hell does that mean?” “He said ‘we have a new student’,” Annie said, with a soft sigh. “This is Antigone,” she grimaced as he used her full name. “Siga adelante y encuentre un asiento, Señorita Crow.” “Gracias,” she mumbled, rolling her eyes and quickly searching for a familiar face. This was going to be fun.

Jacob cursed loudly as he slammed his locker door shut. The hideous colored green locker vibrated back and forth from the impact it had taken from the supernaturally strong young man. He was running late again to class. Mr. Perino was going to kick the living shit out of him. While running, Jake managed to sling his backpack over his shoulder. His attire for the day consisted of a pair of dark colored jeans and a black shirt with the Volcom brand emblem on the front. His hair was tied back in a small pony tail, as usual. "Shit, shit, shit." he whispered, his voice muffled and quiet. That morning he had overslept, and for some reason no one had thought it would be convenient to wake him up. Bastards probably thought it would be funny.
The sounds of his feet pounding against the ground was echoing through the now empty halls. A few teachers came out of their classrooms, shushing him and telling him to be quiet while class was still in session. He imagined giving them the middle finger, but just ignored them and kept on running. His shoes were slick with water, and squeaked loudly as they slided against the recently cleaned floor. He left muddy foot prints on the ground, completely oblivious to the mess he had made.
He stumbled quickly up the stairs, and threw himself through the door. A small sigh of relief brushed by his lips as he snuck in behind Mr. Perino while he was introducing a new student. He sat down in the first open seat he could find and started getting his books out of his bag. Jake then heard Perino say someone's name he knew pretty well, he spun around and was a little surprised to see Annie standing there. A small smirk slipped onto his lips. She must have gotten bumped up to Senior Spanish. Well, obviously.

Annie felt a sigh of relief leave her when she spotted Jake, and instantly headed to the seat next to him. A lot of the boys looked almost willing to shove their friends next to them out of their seats to give it to her, which would definitely provide for amusement, but she'd much rather sit next to Jacob.
"Running a little late?" She mumbled to him, raising her eyebrows with a grown as she sat down, absently tugging on the hem of her skirt when it rose up quite a bit; she fixed it a lot, though only so much could be done when the skirt was short to begin with. "Be thankful he was too much in awe of my Spanish skills, amor. ..That, or he's just stupid." Both seemed very possible.
"Miss Crow?" "Si?" The response was automatic, and she was thankful for that. Having a Latin father who had taught her more Spanish than English when she was younger was definitely going to come in handy for her now. "Do you need to know anything that we've covered, or..?" "Ah, seré fino," she said, shaking her head and offering a quick, almost dazzling smile. "Soy español, así que pienso que agarraré en rápido." Half the class looked so confused as they tried to process what she said, and the other didn't even bother.
"..I think he likes me," she mumbled to Jake, hiding a smile. "And I'm glad we have a class together." She subtly inched her seat even closer, thankful that it didn't make a noise on the floor.

Jacob grinned, glad that she had decided to sit next to him. He glanced over at some of the other boys in the class who had pulled out chairs for her to sit in, and smirked at them. "I'm always running late." he responded, glancing back at Annie, giving her his full attention.
He was used to her speaking in fluent, perfect Spanish, so he wasn't surprised like the rest of the class was. Although, like the rest of the class he had absolutely no idea what she was saying. He tried to understand the first few words, but soon gave up. Concentrating was difficult when there was so much other stuff on his mind.
"Ya, I think he does. He actually has a student who can speak Spanish now." he responded, smiling over at her. "I am too. I was really hoping you were going to get bumped up." he added, giving her a slightly flirtatious glance.

Annie could feel a few eyes on her, though didn't bother looking in the direction they came from. Why give them attention when she wasn't interested? She may be a tease, though she wasn't that terrible; not anymore, anyway. "Ah, I see. I'm usually late, too, but I was a good girl and decided to be on time for once." What a miracle of God.
"I said I was Spanish so I should catch on quick," she offered, with a grin. "Maybe I should answer in English, so I don't confuse the living hell out of everybody." She had a good feeling her Spanish was even better than this teacher's; hell, she knew it, she didn't just have a feeling. She'd grown up speaking it, after all.
"Si, that I definitely do. I spoke it more than English with my father, to be honest," she said, with a soft roll of her eyes. "I was worried I wasn't going to know anyone in this period, but I got very, very lucky and have you in my class." She'd been praying for that, and apparently, God listened to that. Funny; he ignores her when she's in agony from withdrawals, but puts her in Jake's damn Spanish class. Whatever.
She set him a quick grin again, absently dropping her books on her desk and crossing her arms on top of them, resting her head on her arms; facing him. She didn't have to pay much attention; all she had to do was listen to snipets of what the teacher was saying. "Though I have to admit," Annie murmured, heaving a fake sigh. "It's all too tempting to distract you. It's taking most of my self control not to.."

"Last night I was patrolling the woods, we all have to take turns." he responded, sighing quietly. He kept his voice soft so that only she could hear him. "It really takes a lot out of you." he said through a yawn. Fortunately for her, she would be have to be put on guarding the woods until she was really good at phasing. Which could take a while, depending on how well she caught on.
"Unfortunately, some of us are only brought up knowing English." he sighed, subtly shrugging his shoulders. He chuckled, "Some of us are only smart enough to understand and speak one language." he teased, leaning back in his chair as he folded his arms over his chest.
He glanced over at her, smiling crookedly like always. "I really don't mind being distracted..." he replied, inching his chair a little closer to her. "You can teach me Spanish better then that old guy." he said, glancing over at their teacher who was huddled over his desk, trying to get their lesson together.

"I'll bet," Annie said with a sigh, glancing over to where their teacher was for a moment before shifting to give him a quick kiss. "That make it any better?" She was the queen of managing to flirt and get some PDA in during her classes; it was easy once you got the hang of it. "I have a feeling it won't bother me too much--I hardly sleep anyway. I live off caffeine." Coffee was her false god, along with hair products. She'd had a little difficulty with the coffee machine that morning, as Kate was still gone, though managed all the same. ..At least it didn't explode.
"I really didn't know English until my mom realized that I was only speaking Spanish," Annie said, rolling her eyes again with a sigh. "And, after that, I couldn't speak Spanish until I learned it. So, Spanish generally comes easier to me." There were still times when she could think of a word in Spanish, though couldn't think of it in English. She hated when that happened, because it caused people to look at her funny. "And trust me, I'm not exactly intelligent; it's easy once you get the hang of it." Just getting the hang of it would take a while.
They were close enough so that she could discreetly touch him now, so she decided to do just that. "Hm," she murmured, absently trailing her finger lightly up and down his forearm. "Realmente?" Close enough to really, he should understand; it had 'real' in it, after all. "Because you really shouldn't encourage me.." Ooh, well, too late now. "And I probably could. But, whatever; we have to put up with him for now."

Jacob nodded, a grin gracing upon his features. "Much better." he responded as he leaned forward in his chair. Jake wasn't used to all this public affection, but he liked it all the same. Bella never wanted to be touched in public or in privacy. This was all new to him. Ever since he met Annie, he had been doing things he wasn't used to. "And you wonder why its so difficult for you to sleep?" he asked, raising both of his eyebrows in question.
Jake was slightly shocked to hear that. "Your English is really good. When I first met you I just thought it was your first language." he replied, pulling out a pencil from his bag. He tapped it lightly against the table, and glanced over at Mr. Perino. He could understand the basics of her Spanish, and that was definitely a start. He had learned a lot of phrases in the short time he had known her. Like condones. He could now say condoms in Spanish.
"Really." he repeated, smiling as he glanced down at her. Even when they were sitting he was still taller then her. He enjoyed her soft touch, and knew that this class was going to be difficult for him to concentrate in. "Encouraging you is fun though." he argued playfully.

"Bueno," Annie said, with a flirty little grin. "Because if you didn't, well, I donno if I could get away with it again. His back was turned, so I got lucky." She pouted a little, then sighed. "But, I'll probably sneak another before the period is over; I can promise you that much. I'm good at sneaking PDA in during classes." Her grin was innocent, though there was definitely wickedness lying beneath the surface. "And I always have--it was why I go so into..y'know." She had to be careful about what she said, just in case the teacher was, indeed, listening. "It knocked me out. I was on sleeping pills for a while, but after an accidental OD, I cut that shit out." They scared her now.
"Well, I'm glad it is. It was such a bitch to learn--seriously, be glad it's what you grew up speaking. I was six or seven when I had to learn it." She grimaced slightly at the memories, sighing.
"Mhm," she murmured absently, continuing to trace along his arm. She wanted to distract him; she wanted for him not to be able to concentrate. She could teach him what he'd missed, and this was just too much fun. She knew a few people were probably watching, though didn't particularly care; let them watch if they wanted to. She was happily flirting, damnit. She glanced at the board as she heard the teacher writing, and snuck another kiss, fulfilling her promise less than a few minutes after it had been made.

"I'm going to hold you to that promise." he whispered, his soft smile being replaced with a flirty, eager smirk. She must have had lots of practice in this sort of thing. A small sigh escaped passed his lips, and he thought about how many times she had done these things with other guys. He shook his head, he was not one of those guys who got jealous of a girls' past. At least, he didn't think so.
If she had been hoping to distract him, she had definitely succeeded. Jacob hadn't even realized that Mr. Perino had started writing on the board, but noticed when Annie looked up at the front of the classroom. He laughed quietly, not wanting their teacher to turn around and get upset when she kissed him again. "I like girls who can keep their promises." he said as he started writing what was being written on the board. His messy scrawl was big and slanted, and he pressed hard against his pencil, looking from the board to his paper.

"And well you should," Annie said, with a little grin. "I always keep my promises; I make it a habit to not make promises I can't keep." She had a feeling this class was going to revolve around sneaking kissses and touches. Though, she couldn't say that bothered her too much, and she doubted he'd have a problem with it. After all, he was encouraging her.
"Well, just add that to the other things you like about me," Annie said with a grin, sighing as she pulled out her notebook. She quickly wrote down what was on the board, despite knowing it all, in her curvy and rather neat handwriting, especially for a lefty. She didn't even look at him as she continued to tease him, her hand now slowly inching up his knee; thank God for being a lefty sometimes. It allowed her to distract him and have fun at the same time. "If you need an answer, lemme know," she mumbled, sighing as she quickly filled in the blanks before he called on anyone.

"It's a long list." he responded, laughing quietly again. It was so difficult for him to stay quiet with Annie around, most likely he'd be getting in a lot of trouble with Mr. Perino this year. He didn't really care though, he hated his Spanish teacher and could care less what he thought of him. He flinched a little when she set her hand on her knee, not really expecting it. Jacob was a righty, and so unfortunately he could not touch her without making himself feel awkward.
He peeked over her arm, glancing down at her answers. He was very subtle about his cheating, and quickly scribbled her answers. Who ever said that cheaters never won were idiots. Cheaters always won. He was actually going to pass this class if he sat by Annie all the time. Hopefully she wasn't one of those people who never let anyone copy off of them. Oh well, even if she was Jake would find a way to copy anyways.

"Hm, that's good," Annie said, grinning. "The list of things I like about you is probably longer," she said, nodding. "Trust me on that one." There were much more good qualities to him than there were to her, that was for sure. She hid a smile when he flinched, and absently traced loops and designs with a feather-light touch on his leg before slowly tracing out an I, a heart, and then you. Yeah, she could flirt even without looking at him. That was just talent.
Annie subtly slipped her paper closer to him, making it easier for him to see it. "Sorry my handwriting's kind of hard to understand," she mumbled, shrugging. It was typically girly, and loopy and big, though easy to understand once you got used to. Clearly, she didn't care if he copied; she'd encourage it, probably. He'd, more likely than not, get better grades if he copied off of her.
