The smile disappeared from her lips as his own turned wicked, thin eyebrows rising. There was a.. Look in his eye that told her that he wasn't kidding for a split second, raising curiosity. Jacob had never seemed to be scary up until that split second, where she knew that he was, well, serious.. When he relaxed, however, she breathed a soft, "I don't doubt it."
"Good." She said in a light voice, her head still rested on his shoulder. "I got it done when I was fourteen, my mom threw a fit.. I can still see the look on her face when I came home. I tried to hide it, but it's not very easy when you have a lisp." Man.. The people in her town were shocked, a tongue piercing was basically unheard of there.
"You promise? Pinky promise?" It was childish, but for some reason, it had always provided her comfort when she was serious about.. Even if it wasn't a serious gesture. She wanted him to promise that he'd always be there for her, someone she could always call if she was in trouble or needed someone to talk to.. That he wouldn't abandon her. Now she could easily tell why she felt the way she did for him.. He was loyal. Trustworthy, someone she could lean on.
