He couldn’t help it; as stupid as he felt, as miserable as he felt, Embry’s grin was still contagious. One of these days he was going to make Embry pay for being right all the time. It wasn’t right, downright unnatural in fact.
“Handcuffs?” he asked, giving Embry a weird look. “We started dating a second ago and already you’re thinking of handcuffs. Well, like I said before; you win. I give up. Feel free to handcuff me whenever you feel it’s necessary.” He could sulk about his mistakes later, right now he just wanted to enjoy the probably brief joy he felt.
Paul stared back at Embry and felt his smile grow a bit more genuine. “I feel like I’m PMS’ing or something. Sorry..about that,” he said, looking down and chuckling awkwardly. “Next time you can just..slap me or something. Save us some time.”

Embry's grin was growing, but turned into a look of shock at Paul's words. A blush spread across his handsome face and his hazel eyes widened slight. "Wa-wait, I didn't mean it like that, you know!" He could imagine the insinuations in Paul's offer to allow Embry to handcuff him wherever necessary and perhaps that was why he was stammering.
Even his embarrassment couldn't quite hide the joy he felt in the situation. "You're acting a little like that," he admitted and grinned. "I don't mind slapping you, but maybe I could bribe you or something next time. Like Leah demands chocolate on hers. Your would be Emily's peanut butter cookies, though."

((It's not short D< Shuddup))
He still wasn't sure if he was doing the right thing but figured he'd always be conflicted either way. At least he could make Embry somewhat happier with this decision, as opposed to the other one.
He started laughing all over again at Embry's blush. "That's too bad. I got some from Hypersex that one time we went there." He was joking of course but Embry didn't have to know that. If worse came to worse and Embry called him out on his bluff he'd just take a detour to Port Angeles sometime.
Though it was hard to admit he knew he hadn't acted reasonably about anything at all, even if he still didn't think they were right together he should have handled it entirely differently. He would handle it better next time. Hopefully there wouldn't be a next time though.
His stomache rumbled at the thought of cookies. "God, I'm fucking starving, can we go get some?" He wouldn't have minded a smoke but he knew Embry didn't like them.

Paul was not making Embry somewhat happy. He was making Embry frickin' ecstatic, but he couldn't let his friend (boyfriend?) know that. Paul wasn't great with happy fluffy hugs and rainbows. Actually, neither was Embry, but the fact remained that jumping to hug Paul might not go over the best since he'd only just made up his mind.
"You did?" Embry asked, sounding shocked. He hadn't seen Paul buy them, but admittedly, he wouldn't have put it past the older boy. "But...why?" As soon as he asked that question, it occurred to him that he probably shouldn't have. He wasn't sure he really wanted to know the answer. And he didn't want the image of Paul chained to a bed in his mind right now; it made it difficult to concentrate on other things.
"Um, we could," Embry said. "But remember you said Emily's up with Sam? Seattle or some such. They're on a date, right?" At least he thought that was what Paul had said. Everythign before the kissing was a little fuzzy. "I guess you could ask Leah to make you some, though...."

Paul cleared his throat, stifling his laughter. As long as Embry didn’t ask to see them or anything he’d be okay, right? He could bluff around his question. “Oh, you know. For recreational purposes.” He actually had been in a situation with handcuffs before and it had been pretty fun…but Embry would have known that tale by now. He had a lot of stories and they ended up getting all blurred together, the same thing said repeatedly over the oak wood of Emily’s kitchen table. He smiled wistfully; they hadn’t talked like that for weeks. He hoped that would change, he really did miss just having Embry as a friend. And he figured being a boyfriend was like that only you got make out a lot more.
“That’s right.” He frowned. “Well, you wanna just go get something to eat then? As long as I eat I don’t care what we do.” It was the truth; Embry could be taking him to the obnoxious beanie bag store on the corner of his street and he’d go with the promise of a cheeseburger.
